Mark opened up the meeting asking if anyone wanted to help with security tonight.
Approval of minutes of last meeting motion by Kevin Hayes and seconded by Kurt
Bemman. Motion carried.
Mark asked if everyone reviewed Treasurer’s Report with a motion by Gene Hast and
seconded by Kurt Bemman. Motion carried.
Financial report for 2005 Bruce McCalmon made the motion to suspend head tax
seconded by Gene Hast. After discussion, Bruce withdrew motion. New motion to use
the money for supporting the CRSSA Regional made by Marsha and seconded by Gene
Hast that the CRSSA will support the Central Region Tournament with a $500.00 grant
to go to the host club to help cover expenses as amended by Bruce motion carried.
Mark said will be getting rule book change in boat driving. All teams must have at least
1 tested driver. All drivers must have learner’s permit. Single engine and inboard
learner’s permit (Mark read through new rule changes).
Regionals are to be held at the Lake City Skiers show site in Warsaw, Indiana.
Gene reported safety clinic filled and April 16 safety clinic available per Kurt Bemman.
Brint doing driver clinic in Iowa first week in June and the next one on Memorial Day
weekend…not finalized yet at Backwater Gamblers show site.
Grants chair for NSSA is Kurt Bemman.
If you are planning a learn to ski/safety/driver clinic you need to get them scheduled as
soon as possible..
Mark reports on new lake at AWSA Headquarters we should consider a Regional
donation. Note: lake is not large enough to hold Show Ski Tournaments, may be for
exhibitions. It is a 3-event lake. George Blair has paid $10,000 to ski first on the lake.
Someone else has paid $250,000 to be able to name the lake???
Bruce McCalmon’s position as NSSA Representative is open this year.
Kurt Bemman is election chair with June 15 deadline for nominations, email is preferred.
Discussion and approval to continue holding the CRSSA ‘Fall’ meeting during the
Wisconsin Think Tank since most CRSSA teams attend. This will continue until further
notice.
October 1 is deadline to get rules changes in.
Randy Patrick has question about bi-laws voting rights of associate members, correct the
way it is per Bruce, 1 vote per team. Individual memberships have no voting privileges.
Gary Hawblitzel, a representative of the Lake City Skiers, talks about hosting the
upcoming Great Lakes/City of Lakes Invitational Tournament and the CRSSA Regional
Tournament. He handed out tournament forms and information packets to each team
represented.
Brint Burrill has a question about the Great Lakes Tournament. BWG needs to ski on
Saturday or they won’t be able to make it. Kurt Bemman offered to swap with Division
II team.
Gary answered saying we will get back to Brint on questions after Lake City has their
Board meeting on the next Monday.
Mark Poulos said election for CRSSA Officers to be held on Saturday at Central Region
Tournament. Announced that Vice President and Treasurer are up for election this year.
Nominations go to President, Mark Poulos Saturday after last team skis. Election will be
during the CRSSA meeting ½ hour after last performance on Saturday.
Gene requests correspondence from our NSSA Representative be sent to each team
reporting the business and action of every NSSA meeting. Approved.
Kurt motioned to adjourn and motion carried by Gene.
